Authorities find people having military training in Ukraine

Secretary for Security Chris Tang said authorities recently found some people are receiving military training in Ukraine, as preparation to confront the Hong Kong government.

At a policy briefing at the Legislative Council, Tang said local terrorism and soft confrontation still exist.

He said authorities will strengthen intelligence gathering and law enforcement in relation to national security.

He noted that America's Central Intelligence Agency is engaged in propaganda to recruit so-called informants, hoping to incite people to betray their country.

Tang added some individuals went to Ukraine as so-called fighters.

Investigations found their motives include receiving military training, and plans to continue their anti-government activities upon returning to Hong Kong.
