Chief Executive John Lee is about to complete his fourth year in office. He says the road ahead will inevitably bring challenges, but he is determined to seize the momentum, overcome difficulties, and press ahead with reform.

Lee posted a second video on social media summarising his fourth anniversary in office.

In the video, he visited the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park in Hetao and noted that since its opening six months ago, nearly 100 companies have moved in, many of them setting up their headquarters in Hong Kong, making it a world‑class tech innovation hub that connects the mainland with the rest of the world.

Lee says over the past four years, Hong Kong has climbed in various global rankings, including moving up to second place in world competitiveness, and all eight of Hong Kong's universities are ranked among Asia's top 100.

Looking ahead, he says the government is formulating a five-year plan that will bring abundant opportunities for Hong Kong.

Lee says the plan includes consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong's status as an international centre for finance, shipping, trade, and innovation and technology, as well as strengthening the development of an international aviation hub.
