84% of students get first-choice secondary school placement

Results for Hong Kong’s secondary school allocation have been released, with 84% of primary students securing their first-choice school.

Students must register at their assigned schools this Thursday or Friday.

A total of 48,545 students participated this year, about 500 more than last year. Around 95% were assigned to one of their top three choices, similar to last year’s results.

Students returned to their primary schools to collect allocation and registration certificates. The Education Bureau reminded students to complete registration within the designated dates.
