Starting today, the public can use the government's iAMSmart app to book Leisure and Cultural Services Department facilities 15 minutes earlier than before, starting at 7 a.m.
LCSD believes real-name authentication will help combat unauthorised transfer of booking or scalping but some users think the effect will be limited.
This follows the ban on automated booking of recreational venues earlier this year.
