Government won't cover any potential budget overrun from Pak Shek Kok

Development Secretary Bernadette Linn says authorities have considered multiple factors before deciding on the new location for Pak Shek Kok MTR station. This comes after the bureau announces that Pak Shek Kok station will be built near Science Park and Chinese University of Hong Kong, instead of the initial planned site at the Education University's Sports Centre.

Speaking on a radio programme, Linn says Pak Shek Kok's new location can serve Science Park's employees and nearby residents.

Asked if the government would cover budget overruns, she says all parties had reached a consensus for the land price before signing a project agreement. Linn says the government will not provide any support after the land title is issued, even if changes arise afterward.
