T1 issued; 2 China Airlines flights cancelled with rail disruptions

The Hong Kong Observatory said the Standby Signal No. 1 will remain in force at least until noon tomorrow, and it may consider issuing Strong Wind Signal No. 3 in the afternoon.

It will also keep assessing the possibility of a higher signal later as Tropical Storm Noul enters the South China Sea and is expected to make landfall in eastern Guangdong.

The Observatory said hot weather will continue for now, but winds will strengthen as the storm approaches.

Cathay said flights may be changed or cancelled in the coming days depending on the track and timing, while China Airlines cancelled two flights tomorrow and mainland rail authorities cancelled multiple services on Saturday and Sunday, including routes to and from Hong Kong West Kowloon.
