Noul causes destruction in Guangdong after making landfall

Typhoon Noul made landfall in Huizhou, Guangdong in the early hours of Sunday. It is expected that Noul will enter Hunan on Monday.

Noul made landfall in Huizhou at about 3:50am on Sunday, bringing maximum sustained winds of 162 kilometres an hour. The battering rain and wind severely reduce driving visibility. Debris and fallen trees scatter across the streets.

Noul is the first typhoon to make landfall in Guangdong this year. About 710,000 people are evacuated because of the weather.
