European Commissioner on Migration Magnus Brunner says no Moroccan migrant that rushed the border to Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta will be granted access to the country's mainland or other EU member states.

This comes after the European interior ministers held a Crisis meeting Thursday to address the rush of 70,000 migrants that arrived in Ceuta last week.

The European Union needs to use all leverage it has on Morocco, including visa policy, to secure cooperation on migration, Brunner says.

The commissioner goes on to say the EU will become vulnerable if it relies on the goodwill of neighbours as its strategy for border control.
