Octopus to start "8.28 Joy Fest" with cash rebates for elderly

Octopus will hold the "8.28 Joy Fest" for two consecutive weeks starting Friday, offering over 180 promotions for seniors holding JoyYou cards at some 7,200 shops and restaurants with cash rebates totalling 8.28 million dollars.

CEO, Octopus Holdings Limited TIM YING: "Every month, JoyYou card owners spent 2.3 billion Hong Kong dollars in retail purchases. And as the city ages, this trend will just only grow. So building an age-friendly economy, it isn't simply a good idea, it's something we must build together."

From August 28 through September 10, JoyYou card holders who spend 100 dollars or more in a single transaction at designated merchants will receive an 8-dollar cash rebate.

Each JoyYou card can receive up to 800 dollars in total cash rebates.

Starting August 31, they can claim rebates via the Octopus app and by tapping their cards at Octopus service points.
