CE John Lee: $50m earmarked for disaster relief for mudslide victims

Chief Executive John Lee expressed deep condolences to the victims of the mudslide and has earmarked 50 million Hong Kong dollars for disaster relief efforts.

Lee wrote on his social media page that the mudslide in Nepal has caused significant casualties at the Gyirong border crossing.

The government has allocated 50 million dollars for emergency relief projects.

Sino Group’s charity foundation has also donated 15 million yuan to the disaster area through Beijing’s Liaison Office in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Red Cross allocates 200,000 dollars to provide timely aid to affected families.

The Macao government donates 30 million yuan to support rescue and aftermath relief work.
