Hong Kong records 15 months of consecutive growth in retail sales.
July's retail sales value reached a total of 31 billion dollars, which is a year-on-year rise of 4.5%.
Goods such as jewellery, watches and luxury items recorded the greatest growth reaching above 19%.
Sales of electronics also grew by 11.5%.
While motor vehicles and parts as well as fuels have dropped by around 18%.
A government spokesperson, meanwhile, says July's retail sales figure is the sign of a resilient economy.
This as authorities remain hopeful of future economic growth.
