Man arrested in Mark Six prize money case

Regarding the case where a 36-year-old male employee of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) pooled money with several colleagues to bet on last Saturday's HK200-plus million Mark Six "Snowball" draw, but was suspected of being unwilling to split the prize money equally and went missing after winning—the man was arrested Friday and granted bail Saturday pending investigation. Commissioner of Police Joe Chow Yat-ming stated that the relevant funds in the arrested man's bank account have been frozen. It is understood that the amount involved is approximately HK30 million.

Regarding the FEHD employee Mark Six prize money case, police arrested a 36-year-old man on Friday. He was granted bail on Saturday pending further investigation and must report to the police in mid-next month.

Commissioner of Police Joe Chow stated that the funds in the arrested man's bank account have been frozen.

"The case is currently under investigation by the Western District Criminal Support Team, and a 36-year-old man was arrested yesterday. The relevant funds in his bank account have been frozen.

For now, the case is classified as theft. Under Chapter 210 of the Laws of Hong Kong, theft is clearly defined along with its relevant elements," siad Chow.
