Female athlete suspected of soiling herself during HYROX event

A female athlete competing in the HYROX Beijing event was suspected of defecating herself during the fitness event.

She ultimately won after she was allowed by organisers to continue participating.

The incident has sparked significant controversy over public hygiene, with the founder of HYROX having issued an apology over the matter.

During the HYROX Beijing event held last Saturday, Australian athlete Joanna Wietrzyk was suspected of soiling herself during the race, with online footage showing her legs covered in fecal matter.

She was not stopped by organisers and continued to compete, and was even seen handling some of the venue's gym equipment.

Wietrzyk subsequently posted on social media claiming "a win is a win".

Under HYROX event regulations, participants will be penalised if they engage in behaviour impacting public hygiene.
