Latest on Yuen Long fatal dog attack, 3 unattended dogs captured

Police continue probes into the suspected fatal dog attack in Yuen Long and have installed CCTV cameras near the site.

A 27-year-old woman was suspected to have been mauled to death by a pack of dogs late Saturday night on Pok Wai South Road in Yuen Long, but there was no surveillance footage retrieved near the site.

On Monday night, police installed four sets of surveillance cameras near the scene to track stray dogs and boost the efficiency of capturing potentially dangerous stray animals.

Meanwhile, police and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department have been on the lookout for stray dogs in the area for several days, and have captured at least three unattended canines. Two of them are microchipped.

Police are contacting their owners for follow-up and say if there is evidence the owners have failed to fulfil their legal responsibilities, prosecution will be initiated.
