Jockey Vincent Ho wins Ten Outstanding Young Persons award

Local horse racing jockey Vincent Ho has been announced as a winner of Hong Kong's Ten Outstanding Young Persons this year -- becoming the first jockey to be given the award.

The award's organising committee hailed Ho as one of the top jockeys in the city and for setting new records in the sport with legendary horse "Golden Sixty".

The event also highlighted Ho's determination to return to horse racing despite having suffered from serious injuries.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club congratulated Ho stressing that his award was well-deserved.

Besides Ho, eight other recipients include top fencer Ryan Choi as well as a number of doctors, scientists and music therapists.
