Leaders of a popular Indian youth movement vowed to continue protests Sunday after being released from detention.
Protesters gathered outside court premises chanting slogans demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Spokesperson for the Cockroach Janta party Saurav Das said, "The government is scared" of young people demanding accountability. Adding, "We will not back down."
Founder of Cockroach Janta Party Abhijeet Dipke who was released from detention said his arrest at the airport was "the biggest example of dictatorship."
The protests were triggered by a revision of voter lists that has removed more than 130 million voters since last year.
