French President Emmanuel Macron visited Trappes on Friday, following
a deadly shooting which authorities suspect may have been racially motivated.
A gunman firing from a vehicle in the Paris suburb
killed one person and wounded
several others, including a 12-year-old girl.
France's National anti-Terrorism prosecutor's office took charge
of the case.
Macron said the suspect's action may have been premeditated, based
on statements he made in the first hours of the investigation.
A search in his car uncovered an old submachine gun and a canister
of tear gas. His apartment was also booby-trapped with
gas cylinders.
