The trial of Tai Po dismemberment case of Abby Choi in the trial of Lung Mei Village continues at the High Court.

No DNA of Abby Choi was detected on a ball-peen hammer recovered at the scene.

The three defendants-Choi's ex-husband Alex Kwong, former father-in-law Kwong Kau, and former brother-in-law Anthony Kwong are each charged with one count of murder and one count of preventing the lawful burial of a body.

On the 26th day of the trial, police officer Lam Chun continued his testimony.

He arrested Alex Kwong on February 25, 2023, and was responsible for taking his buccal swab sample.

Defence counsel for Alex Kwong questioned why Lam's written statement did not mention affixing a barcode label to the sample or placing it in a tamper-evident evidence bag.

Lam explained that these were standard procedures, so he did not specifically record them in his report.

Except for Alex Kwong's buccal swab sample, the prosecution and defence had no disputes over the remaining DNA samples.

Agreed facts revealed no DNA of Abby Choi was found on the ball-peen hammer seized inside the Lung Mei Village unit.

Government chemist Wun Hau-ling testified she received a fully sealed buccal swab sample on March 1, 2023, confirming it was properly preserved and the barcode label was correct.
