Construction worker killed after excavator overturned

One person was killed and another injured in Ho Man Tin, after a construction site excavator tipped over.

The police received a report at around 9:30 in the morning that an exacavator had completely overturned at 4 Liberty Avenue.

Firefighters and police officers rushed to the site to carry out rescue operations.

Rescue personnel freed the trapped construction worker from the wreckage upon arrival,

But he was later pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.

Another worker was injured and taken to Kwong Wah Hospital.

The case has been classified as an industrial accident.
