Veteran media personality Walter Chu Wai-tak has passed away at the age of 94.

Chu Wai-tak, also known as "Uncle Chu," was born in Guangzhou in 1931 and moved to Hong Kong in 1950. He attended Grantham College of Education and worked as a teacher after graduation.

Later, he joined the television industry, serving as a news anchor for TVB in the 1970s. He also hosted sports and travel programs and acted in television dramas.

Chu enjoyed hiking and published a book on Hong Kong's historical sites. The social media page "Uncle Chu's Journey" posted that Chu passed away peacefully on July 7th, praising him not only as an outstanding media host and actor but also for enlightening many people about Hong Kong's history, culture, and anecdotes.
