Horse racing season wraps up at Happy Valley Wednesday night

The horse racing season concluded on Wednesday at Happy Valley.

Visitors placed more than 1.5 billion dollars in bets while more than 20,000 people visited the two horse racing venues.

For horse racing fans, the excitement reached its peak at Happy Valley on Wednesday.

Racing began at 6:30 P.M. with a nine-race card. DJs and live bands kept the Beer Garden buzzing all night.

Rechelle Mansour graced the event by performing live with the bands. Racegoers could grab a a variety of summer treats from food trucks parked nearby.

This mainland spectator attended his first horse race at Happy Valley. He was planning to talk with experienced racing fans before placing his bets.

This local spectator was excited about the race, despite the weather.

He suggested that Hong Kong could promote its local horse racing culture, adding that the Hong Kong Jockey Club hosts many major events every year, which can attract tourists from around the world to come and enjoy the city.

A spectator says "I didn't expact so many people....."

Another spectator named Ruth says, "It's literally my favourite part of Hong Kong, everyone is here and everyone is like celebrating, and good vibes."

Spectators can have the chance to interact with jockeys during jockeys parades. As you can see behind me, the place is crowded.

According to Hong Kong Jockey Club, the season final race night on July 15th featured 33.8 million Hong Kong dollars in jackpot opportunities.

A jackpot of 400,000 Hong Kong Dollars will be allocated to the first Double Trio, with an estimated dividend of 4 million Hong Kong dollars for a single 10 Hong Kong dollars winning unit.

After tonight's final race, the horses will go for their summer break, and the next racing season resumes in September.
