The overall Consumer Price Index rose by 2% in June month-on-month.
According to the Census and Statistics Department, the CPI growth rate is on par with the preceding month.
Netting out the effects of all governments one-off relief measures, the year-on-year rate of increase in the Composite CPI -- the underlying inflation rate in June was 1.9% -- also the same as that in May 2026.
Among the components, year-on-year increases in prices in June for electricity, gas and water reached 9.2% and transport at 5.3% while meals out, takeaway food and clothing rose less than 1%.
The government says increases in prices of fuel-related items continued to accelerate, while relatively modest price pressures in other components partly offset the overall rise.
Looking ahead, while earlier surges in oil prices continue to feed through, recent moderation in fuel prices from previous peaks is expected to provide some relief.
