CWB fire with mainland and Macao firefighters on site to observe

A commercial and residential building went up in flames in Causeway Bay.

An elderly woman has been sent to hospital.

Footage shows the scene of the blaze in Hennessy Apartments on Percival Street.

A residential unit was engulfed in flames.

Police received a report of the fire at around 11 am and doused the blaze in about half an hour.

Police say a woman in her 90s felt unwell and was sent to Ruttonjee Hospital while conscious for treatment.

42 residents and 16 bank staff evacuated on their own.

Firefighters from the mainland and Macao were also at the scene observing the operations.

The Fire Services Department confirms that the non-local firefighters are taking part in the five-day exchange and training programme to share firefighting and rescue experience and enhance cross-border coordination.
