The United States said it has disrupted a China-affiliated hacking operation that targeted US government bodies.
The US Department of Justice issued a statement on Wednesday announcing the operation took down two hacking platforms, “QScan” and “QTRouter”, alleging these platforms were used to launch cyberattacks against US critical infrastructure and other sensitive networks since at least 2018.
Court documents state the two hacker platforms were developed and operated by a hacking group whose clients included Chinese government and military.
The Chinese Embassy in the US criticised Washington for using cybersecurity issues to denigrate China and reiterated its opposition to cyberattacks.
