
Customs officers have arrested another beauty consultant from OPATRA London, bringing the total number of arrests in the investigation to three.
The latest suspect is a 22-year-old local woman who worked at the beauty chain’s Sha Tin branch.
She is suspected of using deceptive sales tactics and engaging in unfair trade practices to pressure consumers into making purchases they otherwise would not have made.
Customs has received 38 complaints so far, involving amounts ranging from 1,800 dollars to more than 200,000 dollars, with the total value exceeding 3 million dollars . The department says it will investigate all related companies and does not rule out further arrests.
