The Belt and Road Summit is being held in Hong Kong this week with Financial Secretary Paul Chan saying the city will further step up its role as a key hub for businesses coming into and expanding beyond the market.
In a blog post, Chan says Hong Kong is the preferred platform for mainland firms going overseas and the summit will further stregnthen this role.
Looking ahead, Hong Kong will focus on areas including AI & green transformation. He adds that a green tech accelerator led by a local think tank and supported by several mainland and international financial institutions will soon be launched.
He says the government will also co-host a climate finance conference with Dubai’s financial services authority this week and he hopes Hong Kong will continue to leverage the advantages of “One Country, Two Systems” and contribute to building a community with a shared future for humanity.
