International media visited the core disaster area of mudslide-hit
Gyirong Port on the China-Nepal border this past weekend.
Reporters from the US, UK, Russia, India, Pakistan, Singapore
and Brazil were among media representatives seeing
the recovery operation first hand on the Chinese side of the border.
At least 43 people died and 519 remained missing at the border port
as of Saturday evening.
More than 2,500 people and over 500 vehicles had been deployed
for the rescue.
