The city's inaugural Five-Year Plan and the administration's fifth Policy Address will be unveiled at 11 am on Wednesday. Chief Executive John Lee says he and the principal officials will don ties, scarves and lapel pins designed by students and staff of the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong.

The city leader says the lapel pin features the characters one and five -- representing the Five-Year Plan with two overlapping squares. The squares symbolise how Hong Kong will bring together resources from across society and woo talent from all "corners" of the world.

Meanwhile, the designs of the green tie and scarf are inspired by tech development in the Northern Metropolis, reflecting the city's connectivity and ambition to help shape a new international innotech landscape.
