Wang Yi meets Brazil's presidential advisor

Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Special Advisor to the President of Brazil Celso Amorim is visiting China in Beijing.

The two met at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Wang Yi says as the largest developing countries in the Eastern and Western hemispheres respectively, China and Brazil need to strengthen strategic communication to inject stability into a world fraught with turbulence and changes, and to make new contributions to peaceful development.

He says China is willing to cooperate with Brazil to promote the upward and benevolent development of artificial intelligence. Both sides should also strengthen strategic coordination on major international and regional issues, leading the Global South to achieve strength through unity.

Amorim meanwhile says Brazil and China should strengthen communication and coordination in multilateral platforms such as BRICS, and expressed willingness to work with China to advance practical cooperation across various fields. The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on the Ukraine crisis, as well as the situations in Latin America and the Middle East.
