Tourism Board's lantern carnival extended to Oct 4 owing to popularity

Two days to go before the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Because of "overwhelming public demand," the Hong Kong Tourism Board's lantern carnival at Victoria Park will be extended to October 4.

The "International Mid-Autumn Lantern Spectaular," which brings together over 3,000 festive lanterns, was originally slated to run until Sunday.

From Thursday to Sunday, for four consecutive nights, the displays' opening hours will be extended until midnight.

Crowd control measures will be implemented on site if needed.
