FDH arrested on suspicion of stealing $800,000-worth of jewellery

A foreign domestic helper was suspected of stealing 800,000 dollars' worth of jewellery from her employer at Tung Chung's Caribbean Coast residential estate.

Sources say the police were notified by the property owner that their 33-year-old maid handled cleaning work at their residence during their visit to India between the 26th of August and the 7th of September.

The property owner reportedly checked their safe upon returning to the city and found 800,000 dollars' worth of jewellery missing.

The owner did not report signs of windows or doors in the residential unit being forcefully opened.

The police arrested the maid on suspicion of theft.
