Largest etomidate bust in HK, with drugs worth $31mn seized

Police seize 25kg of etomidate powders worth around 31 million dollars after busting a drug storage warehouse.

Marking the city's biggest etomidate seizure, police estimate the powders can fill over 120 thousand vape cartridges.

The drugs were seized Tuesday raid at a logistics company office in an industrial building in Lai Chi Kok. It's believed the narcotics were packaged to look like regular parcels to evade authorities' tracking. Police are not ruling the etomidate powders were intended to be peddled during Halloween.

A 41-year-old non-ethnic Chinese man and a 48-year-old local man, who are a shareholder and a staff member of the logistics company respectively, have been arrested in the operation and charged with dangerous drug trafficking.
