The Hong Kong Cyclothon kicked off this morning, with the non-competitive

56-kilometre ride taking place first at dawn.

Tourism Board Chairman Peter Lam and others officiate

the starting ceremony for the 56-kilometre ride at around 5:15 am.

Participants start near Museum Drive in the West Kowloon Cultural District.

The route includes a new section on the Central Kowloon Route,

changing from the previous "four tunnels and three bridges"

to "five tunnels and three bridges".

The 32-kilometre ride, which starts later, passes through two tunnels

and two bridges, including the Cheung Tsing Highway and Ting Kau Bridge.

Other events include the UCI Class 1.1 road race

and the CEO Charity and Celebrity Ride.

Former Hong Kong cycling team representative Sarah Lee

and former Hong Kong triathlete Daniel Lee also participated.
