US State Department approves sale of missiles to Ukraine

The US State Department said on Friday it had approved the sale of 500 Patriot PAC-3 missiles to Ukraine for an estimated 2.1 billion dollars

in what would be one of the most significant steps to supply defensive weapons to Kyiv since the start of the second Trump administration.

This as residents of Russian-controlled Oleshky began boarding buses on Friday to flee the war-ravaged city, leaving behind homes destroyed by fighting and years of hardship

as a rare humanitarian ceasefire allowed civilians to evacuate.

Some of the residents have described months of severe food shortages saying they survived on whatever they could find.

One resident saying she survived on just zucchini, tomatoes and wild greens as there was nothing else. Another adding, the situation lasted for almost a year.
