The city recorded one more severe case of paediatric flu infection. It involves a 7-year-old girl with underlying health conditions who's now in critical condition -- complicated with septic shock.
The girl developed a runny nose, diarrhoea and abdominal pain on Thursday.
She ran a fever and had convulsion the next day and was brought to the A&E Department in Tuen Mun before being transferred to the paediatric intensive care unit after conditions from influenza A (H1) virus deteriorated.
The girl is unvaccinated and three of her classmates displayed mild flu symptoms in recent days.
Authorities say the city has logged 28 severe flu cases involving children including two fatalities in this flu season.
