Joshua Wong to be sentenced on Thursday over conspiracy to collude

Joshua Wong of disbanded political group Demosisto is set to be sentenced this Thursday in his case over conspiracy to collude with foreign forces.

The 30-year-old is now serving a prison sentence over the 35+ primary poll subversion case. He earlier pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to collude with foreign or external forces to endanger national security.

According to the Judiciary's website, the sentencing is scheduled for 9:30am at the High Court and is expected to last about 30 minutes.

Prosecutors allege that between July and November 2020, Wong, along with former Demosisto chairman Nathan Law and others, conspired to request foreign or external bodies to impose sanctions or other hostile actions against the SAR or the People's Republic of China.
