The Very Hot Weather Warning is in effect. At noon, temperatures in many parts of the New Territories rose to around 33 degrees Celsius.

With the continued heatwave, doctors are reminding the elderly and those with chronic illnesses to drink plenty of water and ensure good ventilation to prevent heatstroke.

Affected by an upper-level anticyclone, Guangdong is generally sunny, while Hong Kong has experienced several days of scorching weather.

By noon, many areas had recorded highs exceeding 34 degrees Celsius, including Sheung Shui, Tai Po, and Sai Kung.

The Observatory expects the high temperatures to continue.

The Observatory said: “It will remain hot tomorrow and Thursday, with isolated showers later on Thursday. The weather will gradually become unstable on Friday and the weekend.”

An upper-level anticyclone is expected to cover Guangdong again early next week, reducing showers and improving the weather in this area.

Family doctor advise the elderly and those with chronic illnesses to pay attention to their health and take precautions against heatstroke.
