Xi supports HK to better integrate into development of country on CPC anniversary

A grand gathering was held in Beijing to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, where eight CPC members were awarded the "July 1st Medal".

President Xi Jinping, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, said the CPC has become the world's largest ruling party and expressed support for Hong Kong and Macau to better integrate into and serve the overall development of the country.

The celebration was held at the Great Hall of the People, attended by CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping and other leaders.

At the meeting, it was announced that eight outstanding CPC members were awarded the "July 1st Medal".

Xi Jinping then delivered an important speech, pointing out that in the 105 years since the founding of the Communist Party of China, it has fundamentally changed the future and destiny of the Chinese people,

Xi said: “The fundamental reason why history and the people chose the Communist Party of China is that our Party possesses unparalleled excellent qualities compared to other political parties and forces.

We must resolutely eliminate all factors that damage the Party's advanced nature and purity, eliminate all viruses that erode the Party's healthy body, and become stronger and more powerful through revolutionary forging.”

Regarding Hong Kong and Macao, Xi emphasized the need for a comprehensive, accurate, and unwavering implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems" principle.

Xi said: “Promoting the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macau is an inherent requirement for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, which includes implementing the principle of "patriots governing Hong Kong and Macau," enhancing the effectiveness of governance in Hong Kong and Macau according to law, promoting the economic and social development of Hong Kong and Macau, and supporting Hong Kong and Macau in better integrating into and serving the overall development of the country.”
