Final day of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral

Thousands of mourners performed funeral prayers Thursday on the final day of ceremonies for Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The prayers were led by his son Mostafa Khamenei; however, Iran's new Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, was not present.

Mourners dressed in black flooded into the Iranian city of Mashhad at the Imam Reza shrine, where Khamenei will then be buried.

Khamenei was killed in the first moments of the war between Iran, the US and Israel and was due to be buried Thursday after dayslong mourning ceremonies.

Those gathered waved Iranian as well as red and black flags symbolizing mourning and revenge, and held pictures of Khamenei.
