Ma Xingrui, a former member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, has been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office for serious violations of discipline and law.

Xinhua News Agency reported today that the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting on June 30, which reviewed and approved the "Report on the Investigation Results and Handling Opinions of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on the Ma Xingrui Issue."

The report said investigations revealed that Ma Xingrui helped relatives purchase houses at low prices, engaged in power-for-sex and money-for-sex transactions, engaged in large-scale family corruption, and used his position to seek benefits for others in business operations, project contracting, and promotions.

He himself, or in collusion with relatives and specific associates, illegally accepted huge amounts of money and property. The report indicated that Ma Xingrui's actions constituted violations of duty and were suspected of bribery, and that his actions, which continued even after the 18th CPC National Congress, were extremely serious in nature and had an extremely negative impact.

It was decided to expel Ma Xingrui from the Party and dismiss him from public office, terminate his qualification as a delegate to the 20th CPC National Congress, confiscate his illegal gains, and transfer his suspected crimes to the procuratorial organs for investigation and prosecution according to law.
