U.S. Central Command said on Saturday that two US service members in Jordan were killed in Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks on Friday with one other missing.
The command said it in a statement posted on social media platform X, adding that four others were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals.
Sixteen US service members have been killed and more than 400 others were injured since the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran in late February.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced in a statement on Saturday that it launched missile and drone attacks on fighter jet bunkers and large parking aprons at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, destroying at least two American fighter jets and three other aircraft, and causing serious damage to several other aircraft.
In turn, the US launched its eight consecutive night of attacks on Iran to "swiftly punish" the country for killing two Americans, according to CENTCOM.
