Tate brothers arrested in Miami over sex crime charges in UK

Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested Saturday in Miami after UK prosecutors said they brought further rape and sex trafficking charges against them.

Britain's Crown Prosecution Service said the new charges relate to four further victims and were brought after authorities received evidence from Bedfordshire Police in southeastern England. The charges include rape, assault, trafficking and offenses relating to "indecent images of a child and extreme pornography."

The charges announced Saturday, which bring the total number of alleged victims in the UK to seven, are the latest in a long-running international legal saga involving the brothers that has spanned the US, Britain and Romania. The brothers have denied wrongdoing.

An attorney for the brothers, Joseph McBride, blasted the latest charges as "filth and slander." In a phone interview Sunday, he said he was confident the extradition request would ultimately be denied.

Andrew Tate, 39, and Tristan Tate, 38, are dual US-British citizens known for their social media empire promoting wealth and male dominance. At one point, he had more than 10 million followers on social media followers but is now banned from platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Instagram for violating hate speech guidelines.

He also runs an online academy where he says he teaches young men how to get rich and attract women.
