A woman suspected of giving a fake cheque worth 600,000 dollars to the studio of actress Charmaine Sheh has been charged with one count of evasion of liability by deception.
The 37-year-old defendant, reportedly a salesperson, allegedly submitted a Bank of Communications cheque to Sheh's studio at Langham Place Mall in Mong Kok last September.
But the studio later discovered it was a fake cheque and the suspect attempted to evade payments.
The case was brought before the Kowloon City Magistrates' Court in the morning with the case adjourned until October 5 for further hearing at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Court.
