Government launches free oral health programme for pre-school children

The Department of Health is set to launch the Outreach Oral Health Programme for Pre-School Children on September 1 that will provide free oral health services to kindergarten students on campus.

The programme consists of professional dentist teams from 23 organisations visiting kindergartens across the city's 18 districts.

Children aged 32 months or above are eligible for the free oral health services such as oral examinations.

Those found with cavities will then receive a referral.

This as the Department of Health notes at least four out of ten children aged five years have suffered from dental cavities.
