Russia trades attacks with Ukraine as it sends Soyuz rocket into space

Russia has successfully launched a Soyuz-2.1b rocket carrying a military satellite from the Plestsk Cosmodrome.

Meanwhile in southern Krasnodar, a Ukrainian drone attack kills three teenagers and six others at a private children's centre. City authorities say the five-storey building has been damaged, injuring four residents.

Ukraine also pounds warehouses belonging to Russian online retailer Ozon outside Krasnodar and in Adygeya, Samara and Dagestan regions, but the Kremlin says the strikes have no impact on the frontline.

Russia's defence ministry declares intercepting and destroying 351 Ukrainian drones midnight across its territory, alongside occupied Crimea and waters of the Azov and Black seas.

Four Ukrainians are reported to have injured under Russian fire in Odesa where food storage facilities and energy infrastructure are hit.

In Moscow, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov says the Kremlin sees it "extremely negative" regarding UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham's plans to allow defence company MBDA to release classified information about British components used in the SCALP long-range missile.

He accuses London of fanning the flame in order to impede peace process.
