A look at Hainan's aerospace industry

Hainan's aerospace industry has boosted local tourism, with many planning special trips to watch rocket launches. Various exhibition halls there present complex topics in accessible ways, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of aerospace science and technology.

Wenchang, Hainan, is the site of China's fourth spacecraft launch centre, in which the Shenzhou Science and Technology Museum exhibits the development of the nation's aerospace technology, including a model of the Zhurong rover that set foot on Mars, and the Chang'e-6 probe that returned from the Moon.

The museum rooftop serves as an observation deck, many people had originally planned to watch the launch of Chang'e-7 here.

This tourist says his child cried because the rocket launch was delayed. Nevertheless, they still visited the museum to learn about related knowledge.

The exhibits incorporate interactive elements, and also feature a replica of the Tianhe core module, enabling visitors to experience what it is like to work on the space station.

Moreover, aerospace technology involves massive data analysis. Part of the Wenchang Aerospace Supercomputing Centre is also opened as an exhibition area, where visitors can learn about 2,000 server cabinets with a total computing power of 5,000 Pflops supporting the industry chain.

The Working Group on Patriotic Education together with the Government Information Services bring over 20 local media representatives to the museum. They state that today's achievements are the results of efforts of generations of scientists, and they hope through reports, the public can gain more understanding of the nation's capabilities in aerospace science and technology.
