Water Supplies Department is suspending water supply at 11pm near Tuen Lee Street on Castle Peak Road for repairs, with pipe replacement expected by year-end.
Water mains have burst multiple times in the area since the end of last month.
The incident this time involves a 600-millimetre-diameter fresh-water main supplying water to various housing estates in the area and Tuen Mun Government Secondary School. Authorities have arranged water tanks near the affected housing estates for residents who need to collect water.
The department also said the section of the water main has been included in its risk-based water main improvement programme with the relevant replacement works expected to begin by the end of this year.
The department aims to complete the emergency water main repairs and restore the water supply by noon tomorrow.
