West Kowloon police officer accidentally fires shot

A male officer from the West Kowloon Regional Emergency Unit accidentally discharges his firearm while loading ammunition at an operational base. No one was injured.

Police say the officer was at the district’s operational base when one round was fired at around 11pm Tuesday.

Police say there are strict regulations governing the use of police equipment, and the incident is being followed up.
