Royal family pays tribute to country music legend Dolly Parton

Country music legend Dolly Parton dies at age 80 after a short battle with cancer. Her achievements span the realms of music, film and philanthropy and she leaves behind a lasting legacy in pop culture on a global scale.

While flags at the White House will be at half-staff for the next week, the Buckingham Palace, too, pay tribute to Parton, fittingly through music.

The British Royal family pays tribute to Parton, as the Band of the Coldstream Guards performed the country superstar's "9 to 5" outside Buckingham Palace.

Footage was shared on X, alongside the message: "Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort and inspiration to so many - including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library."

Parton died on Tuesday aged 80 following a brief battle with cancer. Her career in music, film and entertainment spanned six decades and is regarded one of the most recognisible faces in country music.
