China sacks former generals Zhang Youxia and Liu Zhenli

Central authorities have stripped former generals Zhang Youxia and Liu Zhenli of their positions in the military.

The pair were earlier subject to an investigation by Beijing. During the afternoon, the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress voted to have Zhang and Liu removed from their roles as Central Military Commission vice chairman and member respectively.
